Mungpoo is a small town in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. The land in the place is controlled by the Directorate of Cinchona & Other Medicinal Plants and is precisely well-known for Cinchona plantation. Poet laureate Rabindranath Tagore also spent a considerable time in this place admiring the Eastern Himalayas from his home and now-turned-tourist-hotspot RabindraBhawan. The region is also a habitat for some rare species of birds like the Rufous Hornbill among others and offers a splendid weekend in leisure activities, far from the maddening crowd.
