Namdapha National Park is the third largest protected area in India, after Hemis National Park in Ladakh and the Desert National Park in Rajasthan, the core area of Namdapha National Park stretching over 1808 sq km,
Home to about 425 species of flora and fauna, Namdapha National Park’s fauna comprises snow leopards, clouded leopards, common leopards, tigers,wolves, Asiatic black bears, red pandas, red foxes, yellow-throated martens, slow Loris, Hoolock gibbons, capped langurs, Assamese macaques and rhesus macaques. The critically endangered Namdapha flying squirrel is found only at the Namdapha National Park;
The habitat in the park keeps changing with altitude. While the lower reaches of the park are sub-tropical, the landscape is soon is replaced by subtropical pine forests, temperate forests, alpine meadows and perennial snow as you move up. The higher elevations remain snowbound for the most part of the year.
The avian diversity includes hornbills, snowy throated babblers, rufous-necked hornbill, green cochoa, purple cochoa and the beautiful nuthatch.Settlements of Lisu, Chakma, Tangsa and Singpho inside the park;
Majuli island , on the other hand is the largest revein island in the world, though in the process of getting drowned with rising water level due to global warming.

Travel Itinerary:
Day 1 : pick up from Dibrugarh in the morning and proceed towards Forest camp, Namdapha NP. Evening to be spent at leisure enjoying the scenic beauty around and listening to the jungle calls. N/s at Namdapha np.
Day 2 : early morning photography trip in the jungle. Breakfast to be packed along with. Return to camp for lunch. Later, afternoon reserved for birding. N/s at Namdapha NP 7
Day 3 : full day safari for wildlife photography. Breakfast and lunch to be packed along with. Return to camp in the afternoon. Night safari after evening to spot nocturnals. Return to your camp for dinner. N/s at Namdapha NP
Day 4 : morning reserved for birding. Return to camp for lunch. Later, we go out for night safari to spot the nocturnals like Slow Loris, Flying Squirrel. Return to camp for n/s
Day 5 : check out from Namdapha camp and proceed towards Majuli - World’s largest river island (as per Guinness World Records) located in Assam on the Brahmaputra basin. The island is inhabited by members of the Mising, Deori and Sonowal Kachari tribes and is a hub of Assamese neo-Vaishnavite culture. It will be late evening when you will reach the island. Relax for the evening. N/s at Majuli
Day 6 : start the day by visiting the Satras, the birthplace of Vaishnavite culture in Assam. Explore the unique mask-making art of Majuli by experiencing it firsthand. Later, visit nearby Mising (the local tribe of this part of the region) village followed by a visit to Salmora, the potter’s village.Later in the evening, walkto the sunset point to witness a gorgeous sunset over the Brahmaputra. Day 7 : our trip comes to an end today. After breakfast, we will drive back to Dibrugarh. Drop to airport for your return journey back home.
